Sebastiao Afonso Da Silva and his son Helisson work this plantation of about 120 hectares of coffee trees and 70 hectares of forest. Sebastiao bought his first plots in 1994 and started with 1400 coffee trees. Today, he grows various botanical varieties such as yellow and red catuai, acaia, yellow and red catuca, geisha, etc.
Helisson uses organo-mineral fertilizers and biological inputs, especially to control pests. Other crops are grown alongside the rows of coffee trees with the aim of enriching the soil with different nutrients and minerals.
Helisson places great importance to traceability and ensures that samples from each batch harvested are processed and listed with the physical and organoleptic control observations.
A Lyon-based roaster, Café Mokxa has established itself as a pioneer in the roasting of specialty coffees in France.
