Situated near the Kingu River and on the slopes below Mount Kenya National Park, the station serves a network of smallholder farmers cultivating coffee at high elevations in rich volcanic soils ideally suited to specialty coffee production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost contributing farms are small family holdings, often no larger than a quarter of a hectare, where coffee grows alongside crops such as bananas, maize, beans and macadamia. After pulping, the coffee undergoes a traditional dry fermentation to remove mucilage, followed by thorough washing and density grading in water channels.
