In August 2024, Emerson Narvaez's micro-lot was awarded the 1st prize at the La Mejor Taza de Mi Nariño competition.

As the son of a coffee farmer, Emerson was working as a coffee transporter when he discovered cupping after a delivery to a cooperative. Stunned by the quality of the coffees, he decided to take over his father's farm.

Emerson is committed to the development of the region and its community, encouraging young people to abandon illicit crops in favour of new crops, such as coffee. After 6 years of work, Emerson ventured to a second farm with a terroir unknown for coffee cultivation, but benefiting from a unique micro-climate. There he experimented with planting exotic varieties and other species to provide shade.

For this semi-washed coffee of the caturra variety, Emerson ferments the cherries and then the beans for a total of 3 to 4 days. This process makes it easier to remove the mucilage by reducing the amount of water, and gives a beautifully aromatic cup.
