The Shakiso station, located in the village of Udo Hadama, Shakiso, Guji province in Ethiopia, receives coffee cherries from more than 500 smallholder farmers.

The varietals delivered to the station include Badessa, Wolichu and Kudhume, as well as improved varieties such as 74158, 74112 and 74110.

The washing station employs 14 full-time staff and about 250 seasonal workers during harvest, ensuring equal opportunities and ethical working practices. It has also obtained international certifications such as Organic and RFA, testifying to its commitment to sustainable production and fair trade.

After removing defective or overripe cherries, the hand-sorted cherries ferment in vats for 36 to 48 hours. They are then carefully washed to reveal pure, transparent aromas.
