Finca La Pradera is certified organic and bird-friendly, and stands out for its innovative approach to coffee farming. It relies on a complex agroforestry system with three shade layers and fifteen tree species, creating a rich habitat for local biodiversity and migratory birds while protecting the coffee plants from harsh sun. The farm is terraced to reduce erosion, polycultures with fruit trees and poultry to diversify income and food.

This coffee has undergone a semi-washed process where coffee cherries are depulped, then the mucilage is removed via mechanical friction before drying without water. This delivers a clean cup with some of the sweetness and character of mucilage, and its name pays tribute to the region’s 18th-century anti-colonial uprising.
