Guji is a relatively new Ethiopian geographic appelation located in the most southern part of Sidamo. This coffee is produced by Shonora Coffee Trading, with the washing station located close to Gerba. 150 individual farmers and Shonora Coffee contribute to this lot.  Shonora Coffee, founded in 2018 by Shonora Gata, started trading coffee in 1988 alongside the gold business. In 1992, he obtained a government license and began selling coffee at the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange. After years of hard work, he built a dry coffee processing station in Gerba in 1996. Followed by a washing station in Shakicha Kabele. He passed on his legacy to his children in 2002. His sons, Adugna and Morkata Shonora, both engineering graduates, established Shonora Trading PLC and continue to uphold this family legacy.

This coffee is grown in nutrient rich soil, using organic compost and leaves that fall from the shade of trees. 

This coffee stands out as a shining example of why coffee from Guji is fast gaining a reputation for great flavor profiles. Whilst the natural process coffees are berry focused, these washed coffees have an impressive citrus fruit character. In the cup expect sweet citrus flavours, a touch of spice and a touch of peach. It's fruity and dense.
