Rodrigo Oyuela, Filter - Colombia

Rodrigo Oyuela is widely recognised in Colombia’s Cañón de las Hermosas region for his leadership, agronomic expertise and commitment to family-run coffee production. At his farm Villamaria, Rodrigo cultivates Pink Bourbon, Castillo and Colombia varieties across 8 hectares, with a strong focus on quality and sustainability.

Coffee has been part of Rodrigo’s life since childhood. After years of buying and selling farms due to difficult growing conditions, he eventually acquired Villamaria through a gradual payment agreement with the previous owner, paying for the farm through coffee production itself. That challenge became the catalyst for refining his farming practices and exploring exotic varieties such as Pink Bourbon, using seeds sourced from Acevedo, Huila.

The result is a beautifully expressive cup layered with notes of grenadine syrup, candied red currant and delicate tea-like florals, finishing with the comforting sweetness of apple crumble and caramelised sugar.
