The Dimtu Wate station, located in Hambela District, receives coffee cherries from about 600 smallholder farmers in villages such as Buku Sayisa and Dimtu. Wate sits at a high altitude and produces exclusively premium coffee (G1). The harvest takes place from December to early February.

During the harvest season, 100 to 150 people in the area work as pickers. The coffee trees are relatively young, aged between ten and twenty years, and the station was created in 2019 to compensate for the decline in cup quality due to the aging of coffee trees in the surrounding areas.

At the Dimtu station, the cherries are processed using a Penagos ecopulper. This machine significantly reduces water consumption while effectively removing mucilage, resulting in shorter fermentation times. It also automatically separates unripe beans, producing clean, homogeneous batches with minimal environmental impact.
