This coffee is clean and delicate and represents the incredible know-how and processing skills that Colombian coffee farmers possess. The coffee is rewarding and conducive to contemplation. Expect subtle notes of peach, herbaceous and caramel.
Alfredo Rojas was born into a family dedicated to coffee production. His father gave him a small plot of land, awakening Alfredo's commitment to growing his own coffee.
Today, he runs his farm, El Sinai, with his wife, Yolanda Guevara Rojas, and their daughter, Viviana Sofía Rojas Guevara, a natural resource management technologist. For Alfredo, coffee cultivation is not just a profession, but a way of life in harmony with nature. " I am a coffee farmer, dedicated not only to growing a product, but also to building a sustainable future," he says.
Alfredo is a member of the Coocentral cooperative in the central region of Huila. Since 2005, Coocentral has invested US$2.8 million in social programs. These initiatives include housing projects, university education, health care support, funeral costs, development of farm infrastructure, bonuses for fertilizer purchases made through the cooperative, life and natural disaster insurance, an in-house education system for young producers and farmers' children, and pension funds. Producers receive 100% of the premium paid above current market prices and daily purchase prices.
