This one is truly unique, not only because it is 100% caturra from a region dominated by the Colombian castillo and varied, but also because it is a washed coffee. From a specialty coffee perspective, Tribute wants to highlight that, in a market flooded with exotic treatments, co-fermentation, rehydration, etc., the magic can still happen when the basics are made to perfection.

This coffee comes from Coocentral, a quality-oriented cooperative in Huila that is able to track exceptional batches from hard-working producers until the end of the production chain. They are the main cooperative in the centre of Huila and its members generally own farms of 2 to 3 hectares, located between 1,400 and 2,000 masl, growing caturra, castillo, and variedad varietals.

Since 2005, Coocentral has invested $USD2.8 million in social programs, including housing, university education, health care assistance, funeral expenses, infrastructure development on farms, premiums for fertilizer purchases made through the cooperative, life insurance and insurance against natural disasters, an in-house education system for young farmers and farmers' children, as well as pension funds. Producers receive 100% of the premium paid above the current market and daily purchase prices.
