The Ijen Farm, located in the village of Sukasari in East Java, Indonesia, covers 68 hectares. It is run by Pak Andi, who has been farming coffee since he was a child. The farm is home to several varieties of coffee, including Komasti, Andungsari, Bourbon, Kartika and Abysinia. The coffee plants grow under the shade of trees and only organic fertilizer is used. In 2000, Pak Andi decided to train in Arabica cultivation and by 2008, he was producing commercial Arabica coffee and was learning about the methods of growing specialty coffee.
This lot has been processed naturally resulting in a beautiful balance of flavours and aromas. There is a beautiful harmony between sweet and fruity notes such as red fruit and orange peel, and the depth of dark chocolate and dried fruits from the terroir.
Perfect in espresso, dense and comforting and also delicious with milk or in slightly caramelized filter coffee.
