On the hills of Nyamasheke, between Lake Kivu and the Nyungwe Forest, Gasharu Washing Station brings together more than a thousand smallholder farmers.

Red Bourbon cherries are dried whole on raised beds, patiently turned throughout the process to encourage even drying and concentrate their natural sweetness.

The result is a lush yet remarkably clean cup, layered with ripe banana and brown sugar, with a lingering toffee-apple sweetness.

A beautifully balanced Rwandan natural that is generous, bright and full of character.
